Guidelines for CNC site models
The landscape should be designed with building pads where the buildings over 25 mm should be fabricated seperately. The tool diameter is 6 mm, so the spacing between buildings and for details should be minimum 6.1 mm.

Your 3D model must be a closed solid – not just a surface. It needs side walls, a bottom, and closed curves, like in the example below.
Export the landscape as a .stp file if possible. If your software can’t export .stp, a .stl file also works, though it can sometimes cause issues.
The maximum material thickness is 40 mm in 1 layer, but upon request 2 layers 80 mm is possible.

When you’re ready, model the stock (your material block) around the landscape. Make it about 30 mm larger on all sides – this gives space for screws to hold the material in place. It should look like the example below.

We sell pre-glued pine sheets up to 1500 × 1000 × 40 mm. The price is 0.067 DKK per cm² – for example, a 50 × 40 cm piece costs about 135 DKK.
Machining cost:
10 DKK/hour on the Roland CNC
20 DKK/hour on the VHF CNC
A typical landscape model takes 3–6 hours, depending on detail level.
When your file is ready, send your project request to Emil at ejas@kglakademi.dk.
