13D Printing FAQ

Guidelines for 3D printing

  • You can use the computer in the 3D printing room to prepare your 3D print. Bring an .stl file on a USB drive and open it in PrusaSlicer.

  • You can only use the workshop’s filament - white, grey and black (PLA)

  • When your print is finished (successful or failed), weigh and pay at the entrance to the Metal Workshop — 0.3 DKK per gram.

  • During exam periods, each person may use one printer at a time.

  • The recommended maximum print size is 230 × 190 × 190 mm (W × L × H).

  • Keep an eye on the printer for at least 10 minutes after starting a print.

  • Label the printer with your name and phone number when leaving.

  • If you need assistance, ask a technology instructor: Torben, Paul, or Emil.

The 3D printers at the Academy are Prusa MK4/MK4S
