3Preparing the 3D printer (Hardware)

Step 1: Clean the printbed If leftover plastic is on the printing surface, take off the magnetic printing surface and peel it away. Then place the plate back, spray it with alcohol, and wipe it clean. The 3D printer’s build surface is magnetic and can be removed by lifting the corners marked red in the picture below.

Step 2: Remove the little strip Peel off the little strip shown in the picture below if present.

Step 3: Insert your usb stick A usb stick with your print file (G-code) can be inserted on the right side of the printer. The most recent file on the usb stick should now appear as a preview on the screen.

Step 4: Press button to print If the preview seems correct (it is shown without support), then press the button on the right side of the display down to continue to start the printer.

Step 5: Press again if needed If a notice about a firmware update appears, then press the button once more.

Step 6: Printing begins keep an eye for 10 minutes The printer will now prewarm and calibrate itself for a couple of minutes. Wait at least 10 minutes before you leave the printer to ensure that the first layers stick to the surface. This is most often when printing errors will occur. While waiting, make a note with your name and phone number, and put it on the side of the printer.

Step 7: When print has finished, take off your prints from the printing surface The 3D print can now be removed by taking off the magnetic printing surface and flexing the surface untill the prints can be peeled off. The prints come off easier when the printer has cooled down.

Step 8: Remove Supports In front of the makerspace there is a table with tools - pliers, utility knife etc. to remove the supports. Be careful when removing the supports to not damage your piece or yourself! Step 9: Weigh and pay You can weigh your piece at the entrance to the metal workshop. remember to weigh your print as well as the support. The price is 0.3 kr. per gram and let an instructor know, when you are ready to pay. Congratulations on completing your print!
